North America: First Stop is Canada

Today we started our read around the world journey. The first continent we are visiting is North America and we read a book from our home country of Canada.


This book is about going ice fishing in Canada. It is story about two kids learning how to ice fish from their grandma. They learned to use special tools to go ice fishing. The used a ice probe to check that the ice was safe to walk on. They used a tool called a tuuq (pronounce took)  to make holes in the ice. They used a fishing line with a brightly lure attached to it. They ended up catching Arctic Char.
